Granville, MA DPW Superintendent Doug Roberts worked in conjunction with engineers from Tighe & Bond on the rehabilitation of a stone box culvert and multiple CMP structures that run underneath Route 57.
The structure has an approximate 30-degree bend in it. A combination of solid wall high density polyethylene (SnapTite) and steel reinforced HDPE (DuroMaxx by Contech) was used to slipline the structure. On the inlet, a HydroBell device was used to improve the entrance condition of the culvert. Lightweight cellular grout was then used to fill the annular space and the voids in the host culvert.
